How to add reviews & testimonials to a WordPress website

This article will explain how you can use Testimonial Donut to add the testimonials and reviews received from clients and customers to your website via WordPress.


To add a widget to your WordPress site, first create one in Testimonial Donut. You can follow our guide on crafting brand-cohesive testimonial widgets here.

Summary

  1. Visit Testimonial Donut's Widgets page, select widget, and get HTML code using 'Copy embed code.'

  2. Open the Site Editor on Wordpress. The domain name will be followed by ‘/wp-admin/site-editor’

  3. Navigate: Add > Widgets > Custom HTML.

  4. Place the 'Custom HTML' button at the desired location.

  5. Paste the copied code into 'Custom HTML' and click on ‘Preview.’

  6. Click ‘Save' on the top-right corner.

Step-by-step Instructions

  1. Go to the Widgets page on Testimonial Donut, and from the list of all the Widgets, select the one you want to add to WordPress by clicking on ‘View/Edit.’

    2. After opening the Widget, the following window will open.

  3. Here, select 'Add widget to website' to find the HTML 'Widget embed code.' Click 'Copy embed code' to add the widget's HTML code to your clipboard.

4.Now, you have to open the ‘Site Editor’ for your website on WordPress.

Once you have opened WordPress, go to the ‘Add’ button (+ sign).

   5. Scroll down in the ‘Widgets’ section under the ‘Add’ button, and click on Custom HTML.’

Drag the ‘Custom HTML’ button on your webpage on the spot where you want to integrate the widget.

    6. In the ‘Custom HTML’ editor as shown below, paste the code that you copied from Testimonial Donut’s Widget window.

  8. Once you have pasted the code from Testimonial Donut in ‘Custom HTML’ in WordPress, click on the ‘Preview’ button to check how the widget looks

9. Publish these changes on the website by clicking on the ‘Save’ button on the top-right corner of your WordPress, and the changes will be reflected on your website. 

Preview & Edit

If you have followed the above steps, your widget would have appeared on your website.


If you want to edit the widget and make any design changes, go back to Testimonial Donut, open the ‘Widgets’ page, select the Widget that you just added, and customize it as per your preferences.


Once you have customized it and made any changes, simply click on ‘Save Widget’ to save those changes, and the changes should reflect on your website.
